GA4GH Infra
GA4GH Infra — identity you can run without buying Ferrum.
Apache-2.0 identity plane: OIDC brokering, Passport/Visa issuance, DUO matching, access decisions, Service Registry. Compose is the supported deploy. Not a Kubernetes product.
Why this is a product page
Institutes can stand this plane up against Ferrum, against another GA4GH data node, or on its own. That is the point of open-core identity: the software is free; the commercial conversation is support, SLA, and whether you also want Ferrum, Solum, or BioResearch Assistant. There is no combo product.
What is free
The repository, Compose stack, and crate sources are Apache-2.0. You may run them without a Synaptic Four licence. Crate version 0.1.0 vs stack tag v0.2.3 is documented in the repo IDENTITY — do not treat crate SemVer as the product tag.
What we sell
Support, guided pilots, and pairing with Ferrum (data/compute) or Solum (clinical overlay). Indicative pricing lives on those product pages. GA4GH Infra itself has no licence fee.
How you actually deploy it
docker compose is the supported path. Native ARM/Pi builds exist for edge. That is what we will stand behind in a pilot conversation.
The Helm chart is a broker-only sketch (one template). It is not a production Kubernetes offering. If you need k8s, say so in the first call — we will not pretend the chart is that.
What GA4GH Infra is not
- Not Terraform, not a full cluster platform, not a managed AAI SaaS.
- Not a reason to pay twice for identity if you already run ELIXIR/LS AAI — it is a self-hosted alternative.
- Not bundled as “the suite”. Pairing with Ferrum is optional and priced on the Ferrum conversation.
Optional companions
Ferrum consumes this plane when co-deployed. Solum and BRA can sit behind the same Passport issuer. Each remains a separate product.
